2020 One-Frame Competition – How To Enter Your Single Frame Exhibit

2020 One-Frame Competition

How to enter

Thank you for participating in our Single Frame Competition. This guide explains how to prepare and upload your exhibit. If you need help or have any questions, please contact us at OneFrame@CollectorsClub.org.

Expand each section below for step-by-step instructions.

Submitting your entry

You must be a Collectors Club member to participate in the competition. Log in to your account to access the entry form, then navigate to News & Events → 2020 One-Frame Competition Entry Form. We recommend that you scan and label your exhibit as instructed below and save it before you begin entering your information into the form.

Follow the instructions on the form to enter your identification information and upload your exhibit. Items marked with an asterisk are required. Not all information you provide will be made available to the public. The public will see:

  • The images and/or the PDF of your exhibit
  • The title of your exhibit
  • The description of your exhibit
  • The exhibitor name or pseudonym

Your real name, phone number and email are for internal purposes, so we can contact you if we have questions about your exhibit.

Individual field guidance
  • Exhibit Title — type the title of your exhibit. There is a 100-character limit; contact us if you have any issues with the limit.
  • Featured Image or Page — upload the page or featured image you would like viewers to see. This can be a copy of your first exhibit page or any image you like. It must be a letter-size, 300 dpi image; the preferred format is PNG, but JPG, TIFF and GIF are welcome.
  • Email Address — type an email address where we can reach you.
  • Exhibit Description — type a description of 300 characters or less.
  • First Name / Last Name — type your real first and last name.
  • Exhibitor Name — the name you would like the public to see as the author of your exhibit. This can be a real name or pseudonym; the field is required.
  • Phone Number — the best contact number for you, including the area code.
  • Country — select your country from the dropdown list.
  • Single PDF for Non-Letter-Size Pages — a single PDF of your entire exhibit. Required if you have any non-letter-size pages; optional if all pages are letter size.
  • Upload all 16 pages — upload your exhibit one page at a time using the upload fields. All 16 pages are required; label files consistently with a dash and two-digit numbers (-01, -02 … -16) and upload them in order.
  • Agree to the contest terms, then submit. Loading many images takes several minutes depending on your connection — do not navigate away until you receive an upload confirmation.

Scanning and labeling your exhibit pages

You will need a scan of a feature image or page (the image that links to your exhibit), plus 16 individual scans of your entire exhibit. Scan at 300 dpi, letter size (8.5 × 11 inches or A4), preferably as PNG (JPG, TIFF and GIF are also acceptable). Name files consistently, numbered consecutively with a dash and two-digit page numbers (-01, -02 … -16), and upload them in the order they appear in your exhibit. Be consistent with the file prefix — we recommend your last name — and do not skip numbers.

Double and non-letter-size pages

If your exhibit has pages other than letter size (8.5 × 11 or A4), scan your collection in letter-size sections and submit each non-letter-size page as two or more separate pages. When we piece the scanned sections together, they will constitute the entire non-letter-size page of your exhibit.

If your pages are double or non-letter size, you must also upload a single PDF that shows your entire exhibit in page order. Keep each double page as one page in the PDF, and use your judgement on how to organize any vertical pages. There are many ways to construct a PDF; if you need assistance, contact OneFrame@CollectorsClub.org.

Next steps

The number of exhibits we can accept is limited. We will review your entry and send your acceptance or rejection by email, and we may reach out to correct any content or ask questions. Once judging is complete, the contest will be made public and viewers will be able to vote and comment on your exhibit; you will be able to reply to the comments.

On Wednesday, November 4, we will hold a virtual Zoom meeting to award prizes and hear from the winners. We hope you will join us in support of all contestants. Feel free to reach out to OneFrame@CollectorsClub.org with any questions or comments. Thank you for your participation, and enjoy the show.
